About the Role

Amentum (UK) LTD is a leading global technical and engineering services partner, renowned for our operational excellence, mission focus, and successful execution underpinned by a strong culture of safety and ethics.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis, working on major projects located near our operational hub.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of discipline engineers and/or engineering design subcontractors, overseeing planning, estimates, and schedules, as well as reporting progress.
  • Perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, construction, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse EC&I systems and components.
  • Lead design, analysis, or review teams on complex engineering assignments, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications, ensuring compliance with engineering documentation standards and procedures.
  • Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels, from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings.
  • Conduct site visits, investigations, analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and procedures, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare, deliver, and submit technical papers, perform engineering studies, and support development of technical proposals.
Requirements
  • Ideal degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or other suitable discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards becoming Chartered.
  • Experience leading a Design team, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
  • Pro-active problem solver, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • General nuclear building C&I experience, with knowledge of electrical systems up to 400V.
  • Experience of safety case justification, building regulations, and planning submissions.
  • CDM regulations experience, with a strong understanding of IT systems, security access, and alarm systems.
  • Area of oversight responsibility: IT systems, Security access and alarm system, Fire detection system.
  • Currently hold SC or prepared to go through the SC process.
