Behaviour Mentor Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a school in Wallington. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with class teachers to ensure the school's behaviour policy is implemented effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside class teachers to ensure the school behaviour policy is adhered to.
  • Be aware of and remain responsible for all safeguarding of pupils within your care.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to ensure best outcomes for students.
  • Foster the student's independence.
  • Promote wellbeing and good welfare.
Requirements:
  • Immediate right to work in the UK.
  • Experience of working with students with SEND within a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) setting, or within a mainstream school.
  • Patient and understanding approach.
  • Flexible approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Existing DBS check on the update service.
  • Experience of augmentative and alternative communication (PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method) are beneficial, but not essential.
