About the William Way LGBT Community Center

The William Way LGBT Community Center is a leading organization in the LGBTQIA+ community, providing a wide range of programs and services to support the diverse needs of its members. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Chief Development Officer will play a critical role in driving the organization's fundraising efforts and ensuring the successful implementation of its strategic plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve the organization's goals and objectives
  • Lead a team of development professionals to identify, cultivate, and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and other senior leaders to develop and implement a comprehensive communications plan to engage stakeholders and promote the organization's mission and work
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, board members, and community partners
  • Develop and implement a donor recognition and stewardship program to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization's fundraising efforts
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in comprehensive fundraising, with a proven track record of success in securing major gifts
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of development professionals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
