Job Title: Workshop Operations Assistant

Department: Operations

Reports to: Workshop Supervisor

Main Purpose of Role: Assist the Mechanical Technicians with various day-to-day activities in the workshop, including the inspection, testing, cleaning, and painting of hydraulic equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspection and testing activities on rental fleet hydraulic equipment.
  • Complete required documentation and report all defects/requirements to the Supervisor (or designate) in a timely manner.
  • Carry out buffing/shot blasting, cleaning, and where necessary painting activities on rental and customer-owned equipment, ensuring the equipment is in 'as new' condition prior to dispatch.
  • Assist Workshop Technicians in the completion of operational tasks as required.
  • Participate in the general day-to-day workshop and yard housekeeping activities.
  • Carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks, or duties, which they can be trained, instructed, and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.
  • Observe the company policies and procedures relating to work, administration, HSSEQ, and ESG.

Person Specification:

Knowledge:

A basic understanding of mechanical and/or hydraulic equipment is desirable.

Skills & Competencies:

Effective communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and within a team.

Follow instructions accurately with little to no supervision.

Familiar with safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications & Certification:

A full UK driver's license.

A National 5 Pass in English & Maths (or equivalent).

B2 FLT & Overhead crane certification is desirable.

Experience:

Previous experience in a similar role.

Personal Qualities:

A proactive self-starter with a good working attitude, reliable, and punctual.

Strong attention to detail, works to high standards.
