About the Role

Craft Prospect is seeking a highly skilled Quantum Optics Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge space technology. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and testing quantum optical systems for space applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quantum system payloads for space missions
  • Design and develop in-house capabilities for quantum technologies
  • Integrate and test optical and quantum payload components
  • Conduct hands-on build and testing of quantum optical systems
  • Design and deliver space quantum technology systems and products
  • Implement quantum and optical communication protocols
  • Generate design and test documentation
Requirements
  • Hands-on experience with quantum optics and laser systems
  • Experience in designing, integrating, and testing optical systems
  • Knowledge of general quantum technologies
  • Applied experience with optical systems
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Desire to work in a dynamic and innovative environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of quantum key distribution and secure telecommunications
  • Experience with entangled photon sources and optical ground stations
  • Knowledge of CubeSat systems and design for space
  • Experience with performance testing of quantum optical systems
  • PhD or masters in quantum physics, applied optics, or a related field
