Tax Manager for Alternative Investment Funds

Position Overview
Grant Thornton is seeking a knowledgeable and driven Tax Manager to join our Alternative Funds Tax team. This role is pivotal in delivering tax advisory, compliance, and transaction services to a diverse range of alternative funds and their investment managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with clients, including UK and international asset managers, to oversee their tax compliance responsibilities.
- Ensure a seamless compliance process for clients, addressing operational aspects such as financial management, billing, and debtor oversight.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships while collaborating with senior team members to provide solutions for standalone advisory projects.
- Take on early responsibilities in producing high-quality deliverables, enhancing your understanding of the alternative investment management landscape and associated tax considerations.
- Contribute to business development efforts, identifying opportunities for growth within existing client relationships and pursuing new engagements.
- Access training and development resources to expand your technical and commercial skill sets, with opportunities to network with our Partner and Director team.
- Act as a mentor for junior team members, supporting their professional growth and participating in coaching initiatives.
- Work within a high-performing, specialized financial services team that prioritizes your development and success.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a professional qualification (CTA / ACA / ACCA or equivalent) and demonstrate confidence in managing a client portfolio. Preferred qualifications include:
- Strong technical tax skills and a keen interest in the asset management sector, with prior experience in alternative asset classes being advantageous.
- A blend of corporate and partnership tax compliance experience.
- A proven track record of leading projects with a focus on accountability and timely delivery.
- Self-motivated with excellent teamwork capabilities.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools.
- Experience in coaching and developing junior team members.
