**Job Title:** Early Years Educator - Lead Practitioner

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Early Years Educator to join our team at Queen Bee's Day Nursery Ltd. As a Lead Practitioner, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care and education are delivered to our children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding and Welfare: Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and welfare of all children are our primary priority.
  • Quality of Care: Maintain the highest standard of care across all areas of children's development, including social, physical, intellectual, and emotional.
  • Team Support: Support and work collaboratively with other team members to provide an enabling environment for children to play, learn, and develop.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately record all information and maintain up-to-date records of children's development and learning journeys.
  • Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and carers to facilitate a high standard of care both at home and within the nursery setting.
  • Adaptability: Adapt environments to ensure care is facilitated for children with disabilities or additional needs.

Main Duties:

  • Safeguarding Procedures: Follow and be consistently up-to-date with the nursery's safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, healthy, and secure.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge and experience to support other team members and ensure all individuals work within a consistent system to deliver the highest quality of care.
  • Record Keeping: Keep records of individual children's development and learning journeys, making effective use of the Nursery's Famly programme, ensuring parents are always considered as partners.
  • Identification and Intervention: Share with the Room Leader/Nursery Manager the early identification and intervention for children who may potentially have special educational needs, ensuring all areas of development can be successfully met.
  • Training and Development: Attend all staff training days, ensure all record keeping is completed, stored correctly, and is up-to-date, and ensure daily room checks and outdoor checks are carried out thoroughly.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise effectively with parents/carers and provide support when necessary, liaise with other professionals and outside professionals, and attend training, monthly staff meetings, parents' evenings, and other outside nursery events.
  • Nursery Operations: Undertake various domestic jobs within the nursery, including preparation of snacks, lunch supervision, ensuring the nursery is always fit for purpose, and is always left clean and tidy.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Early Years Education or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all aspects of the nursery setting.
