Are you a graduate with a passion for writing and research? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a knack for drawing conclusions from data? We're seeking a talented Research Associate to join our team at Give a Grad a Go, a leading independent legal research company.

About the Role

As a Research Associate, you'll play a crucial role in transforming commentary compiled by research teams into valuable insights for law firms. You'll be responsible for writing compelling copy, summarizing findings, and analyzing market trends. Your exceptional writing skills, attention to detail, and ability to draw broad conclusions from raw data will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize our research database to find relevant raw commentary
  • Tidy interview comments for sense and clarity
  • Anonymize comments by removing any information that could reveal the identity of the speaker
  • Draw conclusions regarding final ranking decisions, incorporating research notes left by the research team
  • Write clear, concise, and engaging copy that's easily understood by a layperson
  • Summarize findings in a short executive summary
  • Analyze the wider market and write about competitor trends in CMI reports after an appropriate period of training
  • Use software to accurately translate interviews conducted in languages other than English
  • Maintain a high standard of accuracy in reports by ensuring factual information is correct and up-to-date
Requirements
  • A 2:1 or above from a top university, ideally in a writing-focused subject (English, History, etc.)
  • All degree types are welcome, particularly if you have conducted writing from data & research sources, e.g. medical writing, scientific report writing etc.
  • Some foundational experience in a written-based commercial role is highly advantageous - examples being communications internships, writing for your student newspaper, and personal writing projects
  • Impeccable writing skills: you must be able to write clearly and concisely, with exceptional spelling and grammar
  • An incredibly high attention to detail and a stickler for perfection
  • The ability to draw broad conclusions after examining raw data and research notes
  • The ability to closely follow house style
