Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated nurse with a focus on addiction care to join our Acute Addiction Liaison nursing team. This role is essential in assessing and addressing the complexities of alcohol and drug use among patients admitted to acute care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine the extent of substance use issues in patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical, nursing, and allied health professionals, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Act as a vital link between acute care facilities and addiction recovery services, facilitating seamless transitions for patients.
  • Implement and evaluate individualized care plans that prioritize a strength-based recovery approach.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to hospital staff in managing patients with substance use challenges.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs aimed at enhancing the competencies of nursing staff in addiction care.
