About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and commercially driven Event Sales Manager to join our esteemed client, a prestigious country house hotel based outside of Milton Keynes.

As a key member of the Meeting & Events team, you will be responsible for delivering and exceeding revenue objectives, maximizing conversion to achieve the MICE budget, and conducting regular analysis of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Growth: Practice efficient and effective yield management in line with guidelines and maximize each and every sales opportunity, upselling as frequently as possible.
  • Diary Management: Ensure effective diary management, ensuring that all rates quoted are in line with the hotel sell strategy and control option business to maintain a clean diary and optimize conversion levels.
  • Lead Generation: Work closely with the proactive team on passing on any leads of potential new clients once qualified, building relationships with existing clients to seek further opportunities.
  • Business Analysis: Analyze refused business and conduct regular rebook calls on all confirmed/lost business.
  • Competitor Analysis: Carry out regular competitor calls to analyze pricing and availability trends in order to support in setting out strategy.
  • Market Understanding: Understand the competitive marketplace and suggest strategy to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the marketplace.
  • Sales Budget: Ensure a full understanding of the sales budget for the year in order to drive business forward and deliver this strategy to new and existing clients to meet annual revenue targets.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in meeting & events background in a conference and events focused hotel.
  • Ideal candidate would be someone in the meeting & events team looking to progress into a proactive role and career progression.
  • Strong commercial mind and proactive attitude.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize your own workload.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
