Housing Officer Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Housing Officer to join our team at Service Care Solutions. As a key member of our housing management team, you will be responsible for providing a high-quality housing management service to local residents and supporting people to sustain their homes and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide tenancy and leasehold management services within the local social housing stock.
  2. Offer advice on safeguarding and health and well-being, covering a wide range of issues including housing, welfare rights, personal finance, hoarding, tenancy management, mediation, life skills, and the promotion of personal independence.
  3. Profile tenants at risk of failing tenancies and develop support plans with clear outcomes, conducting regular reviews to increase the likelihood of sustaining their home.
  4. Maintain an effective planned schedule of visits and inspections, identifying requirements across the local area.
  5. Develop working relationships with colleagues and key partners, including statutory services, local landlords, and other housing organizations.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience working in a similar role as a Housing Officer is essential.
  2. Knowledge of housing legislation, policies, and procedures.
  3. Experience of dealing with complex casework both in person and in writing.
  4. Experience of providing good tenancy, housing, and leasehold advice, and knowledge of best practice and compliance procedures.
