Our client, a well-established company based in the outskirts of Cardiff, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their busy team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in reviewing architectural specifications and drawings, building detailed quotations, and liaising with main contractors and supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and analyze architectural specifications and drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Develop detailed quotations and cost breakdowns for construction projects.
- Liaise with main contractors and supply chain partners to discuss specifications and requirements.
- Assess risk levels associated with projects and suggest specification changes when necessary.
- Assist with bids for new contracts and support the activities of buyers.
- Monitor project costs to ensure they stay within estimated budgets.
- Proven estimating experience in the construction industry, preferably with knowledge of windows and doors, including aluminium and glazing.
- Familiarity with in-house estimating systems.
- Excellent communication and numerical skills.
- Computer literacy and knowledge of pricing software.
- Ability to work in a team and possess a good sense of humour.
- Flexible working hours, Monday to Thursday, with a Friday finish at 13:00.
- 21 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays, with the option to increase to 25 days.
