About the Role

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Psycho-Oncology Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health needs related to cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Practice
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health and psychological needs
    • Develop and implement individualized care plans to ensure effective patient care
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care
    • Provide guidance and support to nursing colleagues
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead on the development and implementation of policies and procedures
    • Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives
    • Supervise and mentor junior staff members
    • Ensure effective use of resources and budget management
  • Education and Research
    • Contribute to the education and training of healthcare professionals
    • Participate in research projects and clinical audits
    • Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in nursing and psycho-oncology
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification
  • Degree in Nursing or a related field
  • NMC registration
  • Post-registration experience in acute care for adult psychiatric nursing
  • Experience in liaison psychiatry or a relevant clinical specialty
