Job Title: Class 1 Driver

Job Summary:

Velocity is seeking an experienced Class 1 driver to join their team. As a Class 1 driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods across the country, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trunking fridge trailers to various Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) across the country
  • Collecting goods on the way back or performing changeovers at set locations
  • Operating a range of vehicles, including HGVs and trailers
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional attitude

Working Hours:

Shifts will typically last approximately 12 hours, with flexible start times and days ranging from Monday to Sunday.

Pay Rates:

  • Monday to Friday (first 8 hours): £12.84 per hour
  • Monday to Friday (after 8 hours): £16.08 per hour
  • Saturday (all hours): £16.08 per hour
  • Sunday (all hours): £19.03 per hour
  • Bank Holidays (all hours): £25.72 per hour

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid Class 1 driver's license for at least 2 years
  • Have at least 1 year of experience as a Class 1 driver
  • Have no more than 6 points for minor offenses

Induction Process:

A paid induction program will be provided, consisting of a 1-hour driving assessment and a 6-7 hour classroom induction.
