Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team at Howells Recruitment. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients' financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage purchase invoices, ensuring timely payment and accurate reconciliation.
  • Assist in the processing of subcontractor payments, including retentions and invoicing.
  • Reconcile nominal ledgers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support credit control efforts, including monthly debtors and retentions.
  • Set up new supplier and customer records, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with ad-hoc tasks and projects.
  • Input financial data into our system and utilize Excel for analysis and reporting.
  • Prepare weekly supplier payment runs and process subcontractor payments.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 2 AAT qualification or equivalent.
  • Have experience working in a similar role, preferably within the construction sector.
  • Be a team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Possess a keen eye for detail and a focus on accuracy and timelines.
  • Be able to work effectively under pressure, meeting deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
