Role Responsibilities
MorePeople is seeking to recruit an Ecologist or Senior Ecologist to enhance their growing planning and rural teams.
Primarily based in their office, you will collaborate with a team of experienced Surveyors, Planners, and Architectural professionals.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Conducting ecological surveys and preparing detailed reports to support planning submissions.
- Focusing on maximizing opportunities for biodiversity net gain.
- Providing guidance to project teams on ecological regulations.
- Developing mitigation strategies and enhancement initiatives.
- Overseeing subcontractors and representing clients in professional capacities when necessary.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in Ecology or a related discipline.
- Membership in CIEEM (MCIEEM) or equivalent qualifications.
- A minimum of three years of practical experience in ecological consultancy.
- Proficiency in conducting ecological surveys, including Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments.
- Familiarity with the Natural England Biodiversity Metric 4.0 and the ability to recommend effective enhancement measures.
- A solid understanding of UK and EU wildlife legislation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
- The capability to work autonomously with minimal oversight, along with a strong awareness of health and safety protocols.
