Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Administrative Coordinator to become a vital part of our team at Grove Medical Practice. This role will focus on managing outgoing referrals and administrative tasks initiated by our General Practitioners and Nursing Team. You will be responsible for coordinating with hospitals, specialists, and other healthcare providers to facilitate timely appointments and investigations, while also assisting patients with their inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high-quality audio and copy typing service for healthcare professionals, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of letters, reports, and patient referrals.
  • Manage patient referrals through the NHS eReferral system, selecting the appropriate specialties and clinics.
  • Assist in the timely processing of urgent referrals as per established guidelines.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of local NHS services, including available clinics, specialties, and referral requirements.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare services to expedite patient referrals and appointments, and follow up on patient results and documentation.
  • Coordinate patient transport arrangements in accordance with local policies.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage admissions as required.
  • Support the Practice team by completing assigned administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive patient information in compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Good standard of general education, including GCSEs in Mathematics and English.
