Senior Process Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our team at a globally leading Chemical company based in the Blackpool area. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary of between £58,000 - £68,000 per annum, supported by a fantastic benefits package.

About the Role

The Senior Process Engineer will be part of one of the world's largest chemical manufacturers, striving to bring transformational and sustainable solutions to global material obstacles. You will be responsible for providing relevant expertise to production plants, developing and implementing Capital and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design for capital projects, including optioneering, equipment specification, and detailed design.
  • Creation, checking, and approval of relevant deliverables and vendor documents.
  • Leadership of input hazard studies, relief, and blowdown studies, area classification reviews, and LOPA reviews.
  • Commissioning of new equipment installed as part of projects, including supervision of commissioning technicians and contractors.
  • Delivery of plant optimisation projects resulting in reduced operating costs and increased plant output.
  • Provide technical expertise to the operations team for troubleshooting and continuous improvement of site operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering major capital projects on COMAH regulated plants.
  • Significant knowledge of Plant Safety, including hazard studies, functional safety, DSEAR, and pressure relief.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methods, such as lean six sigma.
  • Chartered Chemical Engineer with a degree in a Chemical Engineering discipline.
