Job Summary:

WR Logistics is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our team. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for optimizing our fleet's utilization, arranging backloads, and ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement efficient routing and scheduling strategies to maximize fleet utilization
  • Arrange backloads and reduce empty mileage to minimize costs
  • Utilize geographical knowledge and driver regulations to ensure compliance and optimize routes
  • Dispatch and debrief drivers, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods
  • Collaborate with agencies to book drivers and ensure seamless logistics operations
  • Coordinate emergency responses and resolve road incidents in a timely manner
  • Liaise with customers and colleagues to ensure the operation runs smoothly and cost-effectively
  • Complete administrative tasks, including dealing with infringements and maintaining accurate records

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of planning experience in a logistics or transportation environment
  • CPC Certificate (desirable)
  • Experience with TMS systems
  • Ability to work 1 in 4 Saturdays on a rota
