Apprentice Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Fabrication Specialist to join our team at Macro Plastics, Inc. in Wolverhampton, United Kingdom.
About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment, conducting preventative and day-to-day maintenance on a continuous process production plant, and diagnosing and communicating electrical and/or mechanical faults with machinery.
Key Responsibilities:- Support all engineering breakdowns, diagnose faults, and replace machine parts
- Rectify hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical issues
- Enhance, repair, and maintain all plant, equipment, and services within the manufacturing facility
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
- Participate in improvement projects during planned downtime and identify engineering solutions to maximize efficiency
- Maintain relationships with plant and services contractors/suppliers and arrange for engineering works
- Organize and maintain the technical database
- Order spares/consumables required for engineering activities
- Work closely with Production, Tool Change, and Tool Room teams to achieve engineering outcomes
- Operate within key Engineering and Health & Safety codes
- Ability to stand and/or sit for up to 8 hours or more per day in various climates
- Moderate to loud noise level – hearing protection required
- Fast-paced environment with numerous priority changes and short-notice activity
- Required to work with/around rubber, latex, and/or silicone during normal job duties
- 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Level 3 NVQ or Equivalent in Electrical or Multi Skilled Engineering
- GCSE Grade C and above or equivalent Maths and English
- Proven working knowledge of plant maintenance and repairs, including hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems
- Able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-growing business and meet tight deadlines
- Understanding of health and safety processes and safe methods of working
