Job Summary

Sovereign & Bale is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Work Coach to join our team. As a Work Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals to overcome health-related barriers to employment and achieve their career goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse caseload of clients, providing information, advice, and guidance to support them in addressing problems in the workplace and achieving their employment objectives.
  • Conduct holistic assessments with clients, identifying their needs and goals, and working with them to develop a personalized action plan to achieve their objectives.
  • Assess clients' wider needs related to work, including directing them towards benefits and welfare advice, mental and physical health services, and other support services.
  • Identify and enroll support interventions necessary to remove barriers to employment, including mental and physical health conditions.
  • Advocate for clients with their employers to address problems and find solutions to complex workplace matters.
  • Provide employment coaching, including careers guidance, CV building, interview technique, and job brokerage.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret contracts of employment, organizational policies, and procedures to provide accurate information, advice, and guidance to clients.
  • Work in close collaboration with the internal Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) function to present and discuss cases, and signpost clients to referral partners.
  • Provide education and support to employers, as agreed with the individual, including negotiating adjustments, return-to-work strategies, and ongoing contact with the employer to ensure job retention.
  • Maintain relationships with clients through regular reviews, visits, monitoring, and other in-work support to help sustain employment.
Requirements
  • Basic understanding of health conditions, including mental and physical health, and a working knowledge of common treatment routeways and healthy lifestyle practices.
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully working to targets and handling complex cases.
  • Relevant experience of providing case management support to a caseload of clients with health and/or employment-related barriers.
  • Understanding of the practical impact of common health conditions on an individual's ability to work.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of individuals with different needs and goals.
  • Practical experience in accessing external support services and well-developed networking skills.
  • Empathetic and able to quickly build rapport and strong relationships with a range of clients and stakeholders.
  • Professional and credible both to employers, clients, health professionals, and referral partners.
  • Demonstrably committed and resilient, flexible, and innovative.
