Tekla Structures Design Trainee

We are seeking a motivated and talented Tekla Structures Design Trainee to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will gain valuable experience in 3D structural steel modeling, fabrication drawing creation, and site survey coordination.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our engineering team to develop accurate 3D structural steel models using Tekla Structures software.
  • Produce detailed fabrication drawings and material lists for workshop production.
  • Conduct site surveys alongside our Site Surveyor, gathering essential information about project requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive written reports summarizing site survey findings and observations.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of technical standards and relevant British Standards throughout your work.
  • Participate in meetings and effectively communicate instructions received from supervisors and colleagues.
  • Liaise with workshop and site installation teams to ensure seamless coordination and project progress.
  • Contribute to process improvements by identifying areas for optimization and collaborating with relevant teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of fabrication activities and schedules within the Tekla/CAD system.
  • Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines and promptly address any potential delays.
  • Assist senior engineers in complex tasks requiring specialized knowledge or experience.
  • Prioritize safety at all times and actively promote a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Ensure compliance with all HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) training requirements.
  • Embrace the WGM ONE TEAM approach, fostering collaboration and teamwork within the organization.
Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • At least 1 year of experience working with CAD software.
  • An HND/Honours degree in technical engineering with a focus on 3D CAD/Modeling.
  • A working knowledge of fabrication processes and quality control procedures.
