About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Specialist to join our team at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Medical Consultant, you will play a key role in providing senior cover for the Emergency Admission Unit and Same Day Emergency Care Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure the efficient running of services
  • Observe and follow the Trust's agreed policies and procedures, as well as national employment law and local personnel policies and procedures
  • Supervise and train junior medical staff, and participate in the training and development of medical students and other healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of ideas for service development and delivery
Person Specification
  • Full GMC Registration, with licence to practise, or eligible for full GMC registration
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Acute Internal Medicine, or within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training at time of interview
  • MRCP or equivalent
