About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Leader to join our team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and leading the team in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the team in the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centered care.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to ensure a high standard of core nursing care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with professional values and standards.
  • Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
  • Identify and bid for externally funded clinical and leadership courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Drive improvements in safety and quality, and provide training to meet unmet educational needs.
  • Manage and record complex clinical and management information on IT systems and documentation.
  • Participate in mentorship and educational programs for students, new staff, and other team members.
  • Adhere to all Trust policies and procedures, and professional code of conduct.
  • Support the Ward Manager and Matron in recruitment, retention, and performance-related issues.
  • Contribute to the development of the ward's budget and resource management.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Appropriate experience at a Band 5 nurse level.
  • Mentoring/Coaching in the ward setting.
  • Experience as a clinician with evidence of motivating staff and team building, with proven analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Demonstrate understanding and implementation of research-based practice.
  • In-depth knowledge of caring for patients with dementia.
  • Mentoring/Teaching/Coaching.
  • Enhanced IT skills and ability to manage required database systems.
Desirable
  • Understanding of audits and analysis and evaluation.
