Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant to join our team at Brackenberry Ltd. in a temporary capacity. The successful candidate will work closely with a Local Authority in Lancaster to assist with the appointment of a Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant on a 1.5 month contract, with the possibility of extension at the client's discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver efficient dispensary operations and minimize dispensing losses.
  • Ensure accurate handling and dispensing of all medicines, including NHS and private prescriptions.
  • Comply with legal and professional requirements, as well as Company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Assist in the delivery of all pharmacy services as required.
  • Provide safe and accurate advice on medicines, including over-the-counter (OTC) medication, to customers and patients.
  • Deliver on all aspects of the Dispensing role, including ordering medicines, labeling, dispensing, and endorsing with appropriate claims.

Requirements:

  • A NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services or Dispensing Assistant qualifications completed through a GPhC accredited route.
  • Experience working in a community pharmacy, preferably with experience using Pharmacy Manager software.
  • A valid NHS Smartcard.

  • A basic Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required.
