We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Controller to join our onsite team on a contractor basis (inside IR35) until the end of the year, with a possibility to extend.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and coordinate inventory activities to achieve reliable targets and optimize inventory levels and costs within the UAP.
- Provide the escalation point between manufacturing and stores/suppliers who deliver direct to the point of use.
- Manage the manufacturing units' needs defined in the ERP system and in line with the defined inventory rules.
- Organize the activity and inventory storage for point of use components for the manufacturing unit in terms of planning, implementation, analysis, and reporting of results.
- Support logisticians in their activities to ensure the reliability of movements, including treatment of urgent deliveries, processing of scrap, and accurate record keeping in relation to inventory levels.
- Ensure controls are in place to execute inventory discrepancies, physical and system movements, and waste management rules.
- Notify internal/external schedulers when discrepancies of inventory have been identified.
- Monitor and perform cycle counts within the manufacturing unit, on all raw material and components as well as Kanban bins in manufacturing areas.
- Measure and analyze inventory performance in coordination with the internal/external scheduler using defined metrics.
- Analyze the root cause of metrics not at the target level and work with the manufacturing unit to develop necessary improvement and corrective action plans.
- Manage the despatch or receipting process for the provision of subcontracting where applicable.
- Improve logistics flows and storage through internal and external improvement projects.
- Conduct stock takes, audits, and assessments.
- Improve delivery performance through improvement projects.
- Manage supplier transport, documentation, and requests.
- Maintain logistics guidelines.
- Detailed understanding of production processes and supply chain.
- Proficiency in MRP2 processes.
- Knowledge of Safran Group products markets.
- Experience in inventory management and practices.
- Understanding of basic customs and transport rules.
Familiarity with information systems used in the Supply Chain, including ERP and Supplier Portal.
Familiarity with desktop tools.
Analysis skills to analyze complex problems, summarize, and find solutions.
Ability to analyze information provided by other departments.
Capacity to gauge the importance of discrepancies and anticipate consequences.
