Job Title: Senior Structural Engineer

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and analysis of offshore structures, including fixed and floating foundation design for offshore wind turbine generators and substations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and analyze offshore structures, considering site-specific hydrodynamic loads and environmental conditions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry design standards and certification requirements.
  • Assess, review, and interpret technical inputs required for offshore structural design.
  • Prepare technical reports and supervise the drafting of manufacturing drawings for the designs created.
  • Ensure that all design work under your purview is performed, reviewed, checked, and approved in accordance with engineering procedures or as specified in a Project Quality Plan.
Requirements:
  • Years of relevant experience in offshore industry with a focus on either Primary or Secondary Steel design, preferably for Offshore Wind Turbine Generator Foundations.
  • Master's degree in Offshore Structures, Ocean Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a relevant discipline, with excellent understanding of Structural Mechanics and Hydrodynamics.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
  • Proficiency in the use of SESAM or SACS software is considered ideal, although practical experience with comparable software can also be considered.
  • A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse working environments.
  • Knowledge in programming and scripting skills (Python or VBA) is considered an advantage, but not mandatory.

We offer a competitive salary, regularly tested against other consultants, with a default 25-days leave each year, plus bank holidays, and options to buy some or sell some of that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Additional Information:

This role may require security clearance, and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
