Key Responsibilities

You will oversee month-end reporting for Residential and SME sectors, ensuring timely completion of deadlines. This role involves collaboration with various Finance teams and Retail Commercial Performance.

Your responsibilities will include conducting variance analysis, interpreting data, and presenting monthly results to key stakeholders. By understanding the primary drivers of revenue and costs for SVT/Variable and Fixed products, you will deliver precise analyses and evaluate risks and opportunities impacting gross margin.

By establishing strong connections with Wholesale Market Services, you will proactively manage gross margin risks and recommend appropriate mitigating actions. Additionally, you will develop analytical tools to enhance the understanding of gross margin drivers.

In collaboration with the business, you will formulate challenging yet attainable budgets and forecasts for Residential and SME sectors. You will also assist in balance sheet reconciliation and the Unbilled Action Plan by gaining insights into broader finance and gross margin processes.

Candidate Profile

To thrive in this position, you must possess exceptional communication skills and the confidence to build strong relationships across the organization. Your background in data analytics within financial systems will enable you to effectively interpret large datasets.

Strong commercial awareness is crucial, along with the ability to swiftly comprehend and articulate the implications of data to facilitate decision-making. You should be skilled at transforming complex data into narratives suitable for executive-level discussions and possess advanced Excel capabilities.

You will excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, showcasing resilience, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively. A growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning will empower you to challenge existing norms.

Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, you should have experience or a solid understanding of the energy sector. Ideally, you will be a qualified management accountant or a chartered member of CIMA.
