We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team in the Mood Emotions and Relationships (MERS) Pathway in South Devon & Torbay.
About the RoleAs a Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological care to children and young people experiencing significant and complex mental health difficulties and their families.
You will work within a strong multi-disciplinary team, providing assessments and therapy to children with severe, chronic, and enduring mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety-based disorders, and trauma.
You will have the opportunity to provide consultation, clinical supervision, and training to colleagues and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide evidence-based and outcome-monitored psychological therapies to children and young people with complex mental health needs.
- Work collaboratively with children, young people, parents, carers, and families to understand their experiences and presenting concerns.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each child or young person.
- Provide consultation and clinical supervision to colleagues and other professionals to support the development of their skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to the development of the Mood Emotions and Relationships (MERS) Pathway and other service development initiatives.
- A Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent qualification.
- Post-qualification specialist therapy/assessment training relevant to children and young people.
- Experience of working with a range of children and young people with complex needs, maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
- Experience of undertaking specialist psychological assessments and providing evidence-based interventions.
- Experience of providing teaching and training to colleagues and other professionals.
- Experience of safeguarding children and ensuring the safety of young people in partnership with other agencies.
