About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHSFT. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct therapeutic interventions, including assessments, formulation, and therapeutic input to children, young people, and families referred to the service.
  • Undertake risk assessments and care plans in line with the THRIVE framework.
  • Work in ways that are sensitive to the needs of children and young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Screen referrals to children and young people's services, including urgent referrals.
  • Participate in the team's duty rotas.
  • Exercise responsibility and autonomy for the assessment, treatment, and discharge of clients.
Requirements
  • Registered on the appropriate part of the NMC register and hold current NMC registration.
  • Assessor and mentorship training.
  • Experience of working in an acute environment.
  • Experience of mentorship, supervision, and coordination of staff.
  • Experience of care planning process.
  • Working in a multi-agency framework.
  • Demonstrate a contribution to change management process.
  • Demonstrate experience of problem-solving approaches.
  • Experience of effective assessment/management and evaluation of risk.
  • Experience in positive leadership of a team.
  • Conflict resolution.
