ESOL Tutor Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ESOL Tutor to join our team at Reed - Further Education. As an ESOL Tutor, you will be responsible for teaching post-16 students on Entry Level to Level 2.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lesson Planning: Plan, prepare, and develop schemes of work, session plans, teaching and learning resources, and learning and assessment plans.
  • Teaching and Assessing: Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners, using a wide range of teaching methods.
  • Resource Development: Plan, prepare, and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources, including the development of online learning resources for identified modules.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback to motivate and inspire learners to improve, and record learners' progress for identified modules.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and strengthen relationships with learners, providing support to ensure successful outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Teaching qualification (e.g., AET, PTLLS, PGCE, certificate in education, TESOL, TEFL) and Level 3 or equivalent qualification in teaching subject area.
  • Experience: Experience interacting with 16-19-year-olds in education or apprentice settings.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, and ability to manage challenging behaviour.
  • DBS: Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance.
