Master Mariner

The Chief Officer is a key member of the deck department, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. As a senior officer, you will be expected to take charge of the deck team and make decisions in the absence of the Master.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the deck department and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Assume command of the vessel in the absence of the Master and make decisions to ensure safe navigation and operation.
- Manage cargo calculations and supervise loading, unloading, and ballasting operations.
- Stand navigation, port, and anchor watches as per watch rotation.
- Manage and update the Planned Maintenance System and maintain a defects register.
- Assist the Master with performance appraisals and prepare handover reports.
- Execute measures to prevent and/or reduce pollution to the environment.
- Monitor inspection of safety equipment and maintain the Safety Equipment Record Book.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of maritime operations and safety regulations. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
