Silver Arrow Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Pricing Specialist Ocean to join our team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for negotiating rates with carriers, hauliers, and suppliers to maximize cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and analyze customer quotations to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Support the Air Freight team by providing pricing expertise and guidance on imports, exports, and cross-trade.
- Negotiate rates with carriers, hauliers, and suppliers to ensure the best possible prices for our clients.
- Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed-upon timeframes.
- Work closely with our in-house system to create and issue quotations.
- Communicate with customers to manage and follow up on all quotes to obtain feedback and measure success.
- Track the success or failure rate of quotes and report back to management.
- Develop and build relationships with customers to provide the highest level of service.
- Produce strategic tariffs to ensure an effective workload and to keep tariffs up-to-date and relevant.
- Monitor carrier websites and notifications to stay informed of market trends.
- Promote continuous improvement and engage with airfreight operational teams to ensure smooth handovers of secured shipments.
- Industry and operational knowledge of Ocean freight (inbound, outbound, and cross-trade).
- Understanding of how to influence profitability through effective pricing.
- Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines.
- Knowledge of dangerous goods is preferable.
- Strong numerical and commercial skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent usage of the computer or operating system (Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications (Microsoft Office).
- Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organization skills.
