We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Premises Officer to join our team at a nursery school in Southwark. This is a long-term contract position that requires a dedicated and professional individual to support the current team with general maintenance and repairs.
The Role
As a School Premises Officer, you will work closely with the premises manager and the premises team to ensure the smooth operation of the school site. Your responsibilities will include:
- General Maintenance and Repairs: Support with maintenance and repairs in and around the school facilities, including minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Event Preparation: Prepare areas within the school for events, including setting up furniture and equipment.
- Site Supervision: Be part of the premises team to ensure the school site is opened and closed at the designated time, and support the supervision of the site and security of the buildings.
- Liaison and Communication: Liaise with the premises manager, cleaning staff, and external contractors as required to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must be physically fit and have experience working in building maintenance. Previous experience in schools, colleges, or educational settings is preferred but not essential. You must have a dedicated and professional approach and be willing to hold an Enhanced DBS or have one processed.
