About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Medicine Training Lead to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for overseeing training provided to our clinical staff and supporting apprentices and trainee staff members.

Main Duties
  • Facilitate training within specialities
  • Supervise training clinical staff to ensure effective and efficient training systems
  • Liaise with the management team to ensure clinical staff have the ability and resources to carry out training opportunities
  • Act as the clinical staff representative in strategic planning and department performance review
  • Initiate and organise audits
  • Create the roster to align with the training needs of the staff across all four sites

Person Specification
  • BSc Hons Clinical Technology (nuclear medicine), Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
  • Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent level of knowledge
  • Evidence of Continual Professional Development (CPD)
  • Registered Clinical Technologist / Diagnostic Radiographer
Essential Experience
  • Significant diagnostic Nuclear Medicine Experience
  • Specialist experience in functional imaging
  • Experience of dispensing and administering diagnostic and therapy Radiopharmaceuticals
  • Experience delivering training, supervising students, mentoring and assessing
  • Experience of working within a quality management system
Additional Criteria
  • Able to use highly developed analytical, interpretation and judgemental skills to make decisions outside written protocols
  • Able to critically analyse patient data and make judgements and decisions on format of investigation procedure
  • Able to identify normal and abnormal findings on a wide range of investigations
  • Able to use analytical and judgemental skills when manipulating and analysing diagnostic imaging and non-imaging patient data for a full range of nuclear medicine investigations
