About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced electrician to join our team as an Electrical Training Officer. As a key member of our training team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of the electrical trade by mentoring and guiding apprentices towards their qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality assessments and support to apprentices, working closely with employers and education providers to ensure they meet training objectives and progress towards their qualifications.
  • Manage a caseload of apprentices, conducting regular reviews and skills gap analyses to ensure they are on the right path.
  • Promote career opportunities in schools and through careers services, inspiring the next generation of electricians.
  • Conduct pre-placement vetting of employers, ensuring they meet our company policies and safeguarding standards.
  • Assess apprentice evidence against National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Awarding Organisation guidelines, providing constructive feedback and setting SMART targets.
  • Prepare apprentices for their End Point Assessment (EPA) and confirm readiness at gateway, ensuring they are well-prepared for their final assessment.
  • Proactively address apprentices at risk of non-completion, arranging interventions to support their progress.
  • Collaborate with external parties, promoting our services and maintaining Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to stay aligned with industry standards.
Person Specification:

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation.
  • Current IET wiring regulations (18th Edition) or willingness to upskill.
  • GCSE English & Maths (Grades A-C or equivalent).
  • Verifiable industry experience as a qualified electrician.

Desirable qualifications include Health & Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely), Assessor qualifications (D32, D33, A1, or TAQA), and 2391 Testing and Inspection qualification or equivalent.
