Internal Sales Engineer

- Respond to inbound customer enquiries via phone and email by asking questions to fully understand customer needs, providing technical advice when necessary, and quoting from the company's stock list or working with the procurement department to request RFQs from approved suppliers.
- Manage the sales pipeline and convert quotes to sales to achieve sales targets, raise POs with suppliers when customers place orders, and keep CRM, spreadsheets, and other documentation up-to-date and correctly issued.
- Contact potential customers in the target market to understand their needs, explain the company's offerings, and book appointments for the Sales Director.
- Work as part of the team, actively participating in sales meetings by sharing data, learnings, and suggestions for continuous improvement, and log, investigate, and resolve customer issues as required.
- 5+ years of experience selling valves or other mechanical items to industries such as water, wastewater, offshore, and petro-chemical sectors.
- The ability to read data sheets and engineering drawings.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong drive to hit sales targets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages and previous experience with a CRM system.
- £28,000-£35,000.
- Uncapped commission plan with an OTE (basic + commission).
- Early Friday finish every week.
- Free parking.
- Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:30 – 17:00 & Friday, 08:30 – 15:00.
- 25 days of holidays plus Bank Holidays.
