Senior Safety Manager

Marshall is seeking an experienced Senior Safety and Environmental Manager to join our team. As a key member of our defence projects, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining project Safety and Environmental Management Systems in accordance with defence S&E policy, legislation, and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and maintain project Safety and Environmental Management Systems, including the development of Safety and Environmental Management Plans (SEMPs).
- Act as the principal point of contact for customer stakeholders, internal project stakeholders, and integrated ecosystem members on all S&E matters.
- Monitor and report progress and achievement against safety and environmental targets and objectives.
- Advise project stakeholders on the feasibility of technical solutions to deliver against safety hazards and environmental impacts.
- Perform S&E auditing internally and against ecosystem members and wider stakeholders.
- Experience of using e-Cassandra for production and maintenance of defence safety hazard logs.
- Experience of conducting environmental impact management.
- Detailed understanding of the MOD Acquisition Safety and Environmental Management System (ASEMS), including POSMS, POEMS, and Defence Standards.
- Knowledge of applicable Defence guidance, legislation, and regulations, including JSP375, JSP418, and Defence Codes of Practice.
- Previous experience of applying IEC 61508 and the application of Safety Integrity Levels (SILs) to systems.
- Knowledge of Radiation Hazard (RADHAZ) management.
- Experience of management of S&E for electronic systems, particularly around Programmable Elements (PE).
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.
- Previous experience delivering defence projects, aligned with ASEMS.
Based in the UK, Marshall specialises in the design and production of deployable operational infrastructure and mission support for humanitarian, defence, and security operations across the globe.
