Accountant Opportunity

An exciting chance has arisen for a skilled accountant to contribute to the finance department of a dynamic business. Reporting to the finance director, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the finance department, including managing payroll and producing accounts for subsidiary entities. The ideal candidate will be confident, self-motivated, and professional with a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Assistant Accountant
  • Prepare weekly and monthly payrolls using BrightPay
  • Assist with month-end procedures, including preparation of company accounts to TB level
  • Reconcile General Nominal Accounts, including multi-currency bank accounts
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Reconcile company credit card statements and PayPal account
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors
  • Purchase ledger: coding and inputting of invoices and credits, obtaining authorisation for payment, generating supplier payment runs, and sending remittances
  • Sales ledger: credit control, debt collection, proactive debtor management, bank receipt allocation, and customer query resolution
Person Specification:
  • Passion for accounts with a keen eye for detail
  • Logical mind and working process
  • Preferably AAT qualified or part-qualified CIMA (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong, cooperative, and outgoing personality
  • Self-motivated and organised to complete job tasks and manage them simultaneously
  • Polite and confident telephone manner
