About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Technical Field Service Specialist to join our team at The Source Technical Ltd, supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced bar feeding technology used in the turning industry.

This is a key role that involves hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and customer interaction across various locations in the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and Configure Machinery: Install and configure bar feeders and associated machinery at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance from the start.
  • Scheduled Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and maintain machinery efficiency.
  • Breakdown Diagnosis and Repair: Diagnose and repair machinery breakdowns, including replacing faulty components and adjusting systems to restore functionality.
  • Upgrades and Retrofits: Implement upgrades or retrofits to enhance existing equipment.
  • Inspections and Troubleshooting: Perform regular inspections and use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues.
  • Customer Training: Provide training to customers on operating and maintaining their equipment.
  • Service Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of service visits in the CRM system, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Customer Communication: Communicate professionally with customers, keeping them informed about service progress and addressing any concerns.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a field service role, preferably in the manufacturing or machinery sector.
  • Skills: Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), and a strong understanding of bar feeding technology and machinery.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in high-pressure environments.
  • Language: Proficiency in English (C1/C2 level). Italian is a plus.
  • Location: Must reside within 30 km of Birmingham, UK.
