Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Somerset. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for the manufacturing system within the allocated manufacturing division. You will create, maintain, and continually improve safe and lean assembly and test processes for existing and new products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document, implement, own, and continuously improve the manufacturing cell's Lean manufacturing processes according to guidelines.
  • Be accountable for the definition, setup, and optimization of processes within the allocated manufacturing cell.
  • Implement continuous improvement activities and projects, including designing or optimizing, proving, implementing, and maintaining cell layouts.
  • Implement and maintain risk assessments for allocated manufacturing cell, including authoring safe systems of work.
  • Specify and purchase appropriate tooling and equipment for the allocated manufacturing cell.
  • Ensure configuration control of operational documentation in compliance with current regulations (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001).
  • Own and be accountable for resolving or supporting any non-conformity, internal or external, impacting the manufacturing process.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering degree, qualification, or equivalent.
  • Process documentation authoring, writing of procedures, and work instructions.
  • Experience in optimizing production processes and providing production support.
  • Experience of problem-solving and utilizing root cause analysis tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Full comprehension of engineering drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Implementing the principles of Lean manufacturing.
  • Basic CAD skills for layout design and design model interrogation.
  • MRP/ERP system use – SAP.
  • Risk assessments and understanding of compliance requirements to health and safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
  • Project management experience, including risk, schedule, and cost.
