Role Overview

We are on the lookout for a Head of IT & Security who excels in a dynamic, hands-on, and adaptable setting. This leadership role within our Technology organization will report directly to the CTO. As we navigate a phase of rapid growth, we expect a pragmatic and proactive approach to help us scale effectively. This position is crucial in shaping our IT strategy while safeguarding the security and integrity of our data, product platform, and internal IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the operations of the IT department, including infrastructure, networks, hardware, and IT support.
  • Lead the design and implementation of security protocols and processes, including Business Continuity plans.
  • Ensure the protection of digital assets and maintain the integrity of platform and hardware data.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT compliance and security strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines, such as legal and compliance, to ensure ongoing adherence to regulations.
  • Oversee relationships with technology vendors and contractors, including contract negotiations and risk management.
  • Direct IT projects to ensure they achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Manage the IT and Security annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Provide leadership to IT & Security staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
Candidate Profile
  • Proactive and pragmatic leader with a hands-on approach to driving growth and scalability.
  • Demonstrated experience in an IT leadership role, preferably in a software or hardware SaaS environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, software development processes, hardware management, and cybersecurity practices.
  • Experience in developing and implementing IT and security strategies, including internal program rollouts.
  • Familiarity with data management practices, including backup, protection, and recovery techniques.
  • Understanding of relevant regulations and standards, such as GDPR, CCPA, ISO27001, and Cloud Security Alliance audit standards.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems and environments.
  • Proficient in utilizing advanced network security tools.
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and influence senior executives.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills, capable of using data to support recommendations and drive actions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring effective communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CISM, CISSP, or similar are highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with Lean/Agile development and DevOps methodologies.
  • Understanding of AI and Machine Learning algorithms and their implications for data security.
  • Knowledge of information security forensics, incident management, and logging practices.
