Primary Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team at a fantastic special needs provision in Dawlish. As a teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs in a year 2 class.
About the Role:As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with a teacher and other support staff to provide tailored support to students. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing individualized support to students with complex needs
- Assisting in the implementation of personalized learning strategies and interventions
- Helping to create a safe and engaging learning environment that promotes academic and personal development
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to support each student's unique needs
- Encouraging student independence and confidence through structured activities and guidance
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly in a 1:1 or small group setting
- A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff
- The ability to remain calm and adaptable in challenging situations
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 teaching assistant certificate, are desirable but not essential
