About the Role

As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning, organizing, and deploying staff according to competencies and workload to meet patient needs.
  • Developing, implementing, reviewing, and promoting effective outcome-focused care plans to meet individual preferences and needs.
  • Effectively communicating with multidisciplinary team members to manage the care environment and reduce the use of restrictive practices.
  • Building and monitoring ongoing relationships with patients, their families, and carers to encourage trust and understanding.
  • Ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient records, risk assessments, and interventions.
  • Receiving and providing clinical supervision to support professional development.
  • Supporting the division to deliver specific outcome measures and contributing to ward audits.

Tavener Ward is a specialist unit that provides care and rehabilitation to adult men with complex mental health needs and neuropsychiatric diagnoses. Our team focuses on individual goal-planning with each patient, agreeing on specific behaviors to develop or reduce. We also offer a safe and supportive environment for patients to develop daily living skills, cognition, and behavioral management.
