About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Controller to join our Portfolio Office team at the National Physical Laboratory. As a Project Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects and contracts across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Project Managers to estimate, plan, and control projects, providing expert advice and guidance as needed.
  • Develop and maintain project management processes and tools, ensuring consistency and efficiency across the organization.
  • Provide training and support to Project Managers and other staff members on project management best practices and tools.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to develop and implement project management strategies and policies.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in project controls management, with a strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in developing and applying project management processes and tools.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Project management qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in managing high-complexity projects or programs, with a strong understanding of portfolio and program management methodologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, with experience in developing and applying project management processes and tools.
