About the Role

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant to join our dynamic team at the Grange University Hospital. As a key member of our department, you will provide clinical leadership and expertise in the management of emergency patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care and management in the emergency department
  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and departmental performance
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to ensure best practice
  • Contribute to the education and training of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to enhance patient care and safety

About the Department

The Grange University Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility with a busy emergency department that sees over 180,000 new patient attendances per year. Our team is committed to providing excellent patient care and is passionate about teaching and research. We have a strong emphasis on simulation-based training and have a dedicated simulation suite for junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant with excellent clinical skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for teaching and research. You will have a strong background in Emergency Medicine and an appropriate higher qualification (FRCEM). You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
