About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Practice Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team at Price's Mill Surgery. As a key member of our clinical team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine nursing treatments and care to patients, as directed by the Lead Nurse or GPs, or independently to agreed protocols.
  • Conduct general and specific health screenings to practice patients, within agreed protocols and with regard to current training, and refer to GPs or Lead Nurse as necessary.
  • Develop a specialism in the care of patients with respiratory conditions, in conjunction with the GP Respiratory Lead.
  • Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments, and refer to GPs as necessary.
  • Participate in the management of treatment room supplies and equipment.
  • Collect specimens, including intravenous blood samples, swabs, urine culture, and smears.
  • Contribute to the administrative and professional responsibilities of the practice team.
  • Work at all times in ways consistent with the practice Values and Behavioural Framework.
Requirements
  • Registered NMC General Nurse.
  • Post-registration experience of minimum 2 years.
  • Demonstrable commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of NMC Standards and Scope of Professional Practice Requirements.
  • Fulfilment of essential and desirable criteria in the attached Person Specification document.
