About the Role

Dana Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Chief Engineer to lead the development of Electrified Powertrain Control Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering fully integrated software, including controls and application software, as well as basic software, with customer-expected features and functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Function as the overall technical leader responsible for complete software delivery with all required features and functions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for software with customers and internal teams, including technical discussions, negotiations, and ownership of customer expectations.
  • Work closely with customers, including at customer sites, for features and functions development, issue root causing, and corrective actions.
  • Take technical leadership of software release planning and execution, working with EPMs, software team leadership, and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead and drive day-to-day development and issue resolutions, establishing controls strategies, and ensuring software delivered meets required calibrations.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams, including Systems, Hardware, Mechanical, Thermal, Safety, and Testing.
  • Understand customer and system-level requirements, working with the team during software requirements, architecture, design, implementation, unit testing, and integration testing.
  • Interface with EDU Chief Engineering, Program Management, and Management teams to develop customer delivery strategies and timing impact inputs.
  • Work with FuSa and Cybersecurity Technical teams to decompose and define software requirements and downstream work products.
  • Execute specific features on projects from requirements development through controls testing, following the ASPICE development process.
  • Develop and grow core strategy documentation for presentation to Management teams.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Engineering in Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Automotive Motor Controls Development and Testing for production-level features and functions.
  • Working experience using Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow model-based software development.
  • Working experience with AUTOSAR development flow and tools, such as Mathworks/Electrobit/Vector/dSPACE.
  • Working experience with SW development tools, such as Polarion, Git, Jira, Confluence.
  • Working experience with A-SPICE processes and Agile methods.
  • Ability to function in a team with cross-functional team members.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills, problem-solving, planning, and decision-making.
  • Self-directed and motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Architecture knowledge of vehicle powertrain control systems.
  • Previous experience releasing production model-based software in projects certified to A-SPICE L2.
  • Azure repos and artifactory usage experience.
  • Previous experience optimizing controls parameters during vehicle testing.
  • Understanding of ISO26262 FuSa and ISO21434 Cybersecurity Engineering standard and practices.
  • Understanding of product development standards, including APQP, DVP&R, DFM, and DFMEA.
