Senior Financial Analyst

Biffa Waste Services Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of management accounting, analysis, and reporting for our I&C Collections division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Participate in the monitoring and preparation of the monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and feedback/explanations of financial performance to finance and non-finance personnel.
  • Financial Reporting: Work closely with the FP&A Manager to adequately present and explain the monthly results, providing other ad-hoc support as required.
  • Financial Budgeting: Support in preparing the full year budget, quarterly reforecasts, and 5-year plan for I&C Collections, working alongside finance and non-finance personnel to aid and assist accurate planning.
  • Financial Consolidation: Oversee consolidation of budgets, forecasts, and five-year plans for the division, including central submissions and divisional outputs for presentations, etc.
  • Team Management: Manage one to two direct reports and support their development.
  • Financial Reconciliation: Review and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies in the day-to-day role.
  • Financial Decision Support: Provide financial data and insight to assist in commercial decision making.
  • Audit Support: Provide end-of-year audit support, giving full and adequate explanations to auditors where requested.
  • Acquisition Accounting: Where applicable, support acquisition accounting and integration.
  • Capex Reporting: Oversee Capex reporting and analysis, including review and feedback of investments appraisal and capital employment performance.
Requirements
  • Accounting Qualification: Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of building excellent working relationships with senior leaders of a large-sized business.
  • System Skills: Strong system skills, including advanced Excel and Power BI.
  • Industry Experience: Management accounting experience gained in the service, logistics, or waste industries an advantage.
