Research Capacity Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team as the Research Capacity and Training Lead. This role is a key part of our Evidence Islington initiative, which aims to improve how local authorities gather, link, and use evidence to inform decision-making and practice.
About the RoleAs the Research Capacity and Training Lead, you will be responsible for building sustainable research and analysis capacity across the Council and with partners. This will involve developing and overseeing the research training and development programme for staff, working in close collaboration with our partner NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North Thames Academy and the Council's Organisational Development team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver innovative training and courses to improve research skills and practice across the workforce.
- Collaborate with partners to build research capacity and ensure evidence-informed decision-making.
- Support the development of a research-informed, data-driven workforce and culture.
- Design and deliver training programmes to equip staff with the skills to choose and use rigorous evidence.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven ability to teach at any level within applied health/methods-based research and across a range of subjects at a more introductory level.
- Experience of presenting applied health research and/or research around wider determinants of health to a range of audiences.
- Experience of developing and delivering innovative training and courses.
